An olfactory imagining of the unscented torch ginger lily flower, Ingenious Ginger is an abstract citrusy, floral, and ambery perfume that expresses our Founder's most beloved tropical flower, which grows in abundance at his holiday home in the wet tropics. This uplifting perfume opens with a burst of bergamot, amplified by the effervescent scent of ginger, the sparkle of mandarin, and the bright and sunny aura of magnolia.

To create an accord to represent the imagined beauty of the unscented torch ginger lily flower, Goldfield & Banks has used an olfactory native material - Red Back Ginger - as the starting point for this accord, rather than deriving it from an extract. Together with bergamot, mandarin, magnolia, vanilla, musk, and amber, perfumer Hamid Merati-Kashani realised Dimitri Weber's scented vision for this flower.

With Ingenious Ginger, Goldfield & Banks is the first perfume house to explore Australian Red Back Ginger as an olfactory material and to add this complex native botanical to its all-Australian luxury perfume collection.

Combining the science of Australia's most authentic native essences with centuries of French expertise in the art of perfume making, our perfumes created in Australia are a quest for the ultimate Australian olfactory experience.

With elements rarely used in modern perfumery, each has been carefully unravelled to expose its honest and stunning beauty. All our fragrances are perfumes (at least 20% scented essences), so enjoy the richness of their high concentration.

NATIVE BOTANICAL CULTURE

Legend has it that Australian sandalwood trees thrive on fields of gold… The journey of each Goldfield & Banks perfume begins in Australia, where native botanicals are harvested and processed to create oils of exceptional purity.

Each perfume is meticulously crafted by Dimitri Weber, the Founder and Creative Director of Goldfield & Banks, in collaboration with renowned perfumers from around the globe. For the selection of our native ingredients, we work with experienced and dedicated growers and suppliers.

ODE TO AUSTRALIA

Goldfield & Banks pays homage to Australia's first botanist and naturalist, Joseph Banks. A curious explorer and prodigious collector, Banks' collection of Australian plants, seeds, insects, and wildlife was the first to reveal Australia's vast botanical richness to the European world.

Likewise, we have gathered the finest ingredients from across the globe and combined them with the pure, natural essences drawn from Australia's diverse array of seeds, woods, flowers, lichens, resins, leaves, and fruits.

THE FOUNDER

The Goldfield & Banks story begins on the other side of the world when Dimitri Weber set out on a journey to discover the curious, enigmatic land of Australia. Falling in love with its lush beauty, Dimitri created Goldfield & Banks to capture its essences in perfume.

In this quest to develop a botanical dream, Dimitri Weber created a luxurious and precious collection of gender-free fragrances featuring exceptional, pure, and rare Australian essences previously unexplored in modern perfumery.

Examples of the high-grade native oils we use are Australian Sandalwood, Buddha Wood, Brown Boronia, Blue Cypress, and Golden Wattle. We also complement these with exotic ingredients that have been introduced to Australia's unique climate.

TRACEABILITY

Since we began making perfumes in 2016, we have developed privileged partnerships with leaders in cultivating botanical species and essential oils. Our growers are passionate about premium crops with full traceability from the field to the final product.

Their knowledge and accountability measures are unparalleled in this industry- we know exactly where each crop was grown, as well as more minute details such as the growing and harvesting conditions for each batch of oil.
